Major disruption on south London trains as signalling fault closes lines at Wimbledon

Rail passengers in south London are racing miserable journeys as a signalling fault causes chaos.Lines have reopened following a fault on Sunday with the signalling system at Wimbledon.But trains running through this station may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised.Major disruption is expected until 2pm.The disruption is affecting services between London Waterloo and Shepperton, Hampton Court, Chessington South, Leatherhead, Guildford,Portsmouth Harbour, Basingstoke, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth, Yeovil Junction and Exeter St Davids.It is also affecting services between Wimbledon and Guildford, National Rail said.It advised passengers to check before they travel, as trains may continue to be delayed, altered at short notice, or cancelled while the service is restored.
