Major change to World Darts Championship ticket system as record number of seats set to go on sale

DARTS fans visiting Alexandra Palace for the World Darts Championship will have to contend with a new ticketing system, with a record number of seats available. Organisers will welcome a record 180,000 fans for the 2026/27 tournament as the sport moves into the venue’s Great Hall for the first time. Sign up for the Sport newsletter Thank you! And in another first- time twist, tickets for the championship will be allocated through a ballot. Previous years have seen the PDC’s ticket website crash due to high demand. But a PDC announcement confirmed how fans would be able to get tickets this time around, with those wanting to be at the front of the queue needing to have a PDCTV Annual Subscription. A statement said: “The PDCTV Annual Members Ballot opens at 12:00 BST on Tuesday September 1 and closes at 23:59 BST on Monday September 7. “To be eligible, fans must have an active PDCTV Annual subscription before 23:59 BST on Sunday August 30. Subscriptions purchased after this deadline will only be eligible for the General Ballot. “As well as receiving an increased opportunity to secure tickets for the Paddy Power World Darts Championship, a PDCTV Annual membership includes live and on-demand coverage of the sport’s biggest events, exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes content throughout the year. Following the PDCTV Annual Members Ballot, a General Ballot will then open on September 8 through to September 14. The announcement caveats that tickets are not guaranteed through either ballot, with demand for seats expected to exceed capacity.
