Maisie Williams says drama with Lena Headey will explore vulnerability of acting

Actress Maisie Williams has said her new audio drama with Lena Headey is “important” as it explores the vulnerability of being an actor.The 29-year-old, who is best known for starring as Arya Stark in Game Of Thrones alongside Headey who played Cersei Lannister, will appear with her once again in the eight-part drama Intimacy on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds, where she plays the character Bunny, who is also an actor.Williams said: “It was important to me, alongside the sprightliness and flippant one liners, that we see Bunny in her honesty too.“Being an actor is inherently vulnerable, so acting in a dangerous environment leaves you open to very serious psychological damage. This show touches on that…“Lena is one of my favourite people on Earth. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with her on a number of her projects but this one was even more special because I got to act with her too. It wasn’t even a conversation. You just got on with it and cried later.“It’s such an important role, though I think it’s a really tricky line to walk. They need the actors and directors on board to be able to do their job.”Intimacy, which also stars Hannah Waddingham and Alison Steadman, will be available as a boxset on BBC Sounds from Wednesday and is broadcast on BBC Radio 4 at 11pm on Mondays, starting on July 27.
