Maharashtra TET leak traced back to Agra printing press, police claim

Bhiwandi Police told a court that an accused carried a discarded TET question paper out of an Agra press in his shoe. Investigators say the leak points to a wider network that allegedly lured press employees with money and incentives.Investigations into the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak case have revealed that one of the accused allegedly smuggled a discarded copy of the question paper out of the Mahim Patran Printing Press in Agra by hiding it inside his shoe.According to the Bhiwandi Police, the accused, Babulal, worked at the printing press where the TET question papers were printed. Investigators said question papers with printing defects, including misprints, overprinting and ink spills, were discarded and kept in a disposal box inside the manager's office.Police claim Babulal took one such copy with a minor printing error from the disposal box and hid it inside his shoe before leaving the printing press. The question paper was then allegedly handed over to co-accused Sanjay and Sonu, both former employees of the press, who were allegedly in contact with the case's alleged mastermind, Bijendra Gupta. On Monday, the Bhiwandi Police produced all 15 accused before a Bhiwandi court after confronting them with each other as part of the investigation. Police said the exercise was carried out to verify statements and establish the role of each accused in the case. Investigators allege that Bijendra Gupta's network targeted lower-level employees working at printing presses handling confidential examination papers by offering them money and other incentives. In the TET case, police claim Babulal and another accused, Nikki, were promised plots in Agra along with payments ranging between 8,000 and 15,000. Police sources also said the group was allegedly planning to target the State Eligibility Test (SET) for Assistant Professor recruitment scheduled in Maharashtra. However, senior police officials have denied confirming this information.MAHARASHTRA TET LEAKThe Maharashtra TET paper leak case came to light after the examination was compromised, triggering an investigation by the Bhiwandi Police.
