Magic: The Gathering Reveals 4 New Reality Fracture Cards [EXCLUSIVE]

Reality Fracture is an upcoming set built around alternate realities, familiar faces, and drastically different versions of some of the game's most recognizable characters. At the center of the story is Jace Beleren, whose attempt to reshape reality creates the "Echoverse," a reimagined version of the Multiverse where heroes, villains, and entire worlds can take unexpected new forms. Fans are particularly excited about Reality Fracture, as its unique premise leaves plenty of room to experiment with established lore, particularly through its echoed pairs, which introduce contrasting versions of characters such as Chandra, Ajani, and Karn. Further, rather than simply introducing a new plane, the set plays with the history of MTG itself, asking what some of its biggest characters might look like in alternate timelines/realities. While Reality Fracture doesn't officially launch until October 2, 2026, ScreenRant can exclusively reveal a first look at some of the set's stunning new cards. Reality Fracture is introducing several distinct card treatments built around its broken-reality theme. The centerpiece is the echoed pair system, with two cards of the same rarity depicting familiar characters in both the established Multiverse and Jace's altered Echoverse. Some of these pairs also receive borderless versions with artwork spanning both cards. Elsewhere, shattered mirror cards reinterpret famous cards while visually incorporating the originals that inspired them, with special facet foil versions appearing exclusively in Collector Boosters. Screen Rant got a sneak peek at a new Enchantment and its mirrored variants, the previously rumored Omnipresence Enchantment: One of Reality Fracture's most intriguing new cards is Omnipresence, which ScreenRant can exclusively reveal will let players cast spells from their hand with a mana value less than or equal to the number of creatures they control without paying those spells' mana costs. The effect strongly establishes Omnipresence as a twist on one of Magic: The Gathering's most famous enchantments, Omniscience, which allows its controller to cast spells from their hand without paying their mana costs at all. Omnipresence trades Omniscience's completely unrestricted free casting for an ability tied directly to a player's board. Controlling five creatures, for example, would open the door to casting spells with mana value 5 or lower for free. Based on the revealed wording, there is no once-per-turn restriction, potentially making a creature-heavy battlefield an extremely powerful resource while also leaving the effect vulnerable to anything that reduces the player's creature count. Wizards is giving Omnipresence four different illustrated versions, including artwork by Killoffer, two versions featuring artwork from Chase Stone, and a Story Spotlight treatment illustrated by Bryan Sola. That final version is especially important to Reality Fracture's overarching narrative, carrying the story text: "Her choice made, Tam called upon the one being who could fix what Jace had done." That "one being" is none other than Emrakul. In the finale of the Reality Fracture story, Tam realizes Jace's Echoverse must be stopped and psychically reaches out to the Eldrazi titan imprisoned within Innistrad's moon. Emrakul answers her call and ultimately begins consuming the Echoverse, separating it from the original Multiverse before Jace's creation can completely overwrite reality. That makes Omnipresence more than another alternate-reality spin on a famous MTG card, as its Story Spotlight version immortalizes one of the defining moments of Reality Fracture, when Tam makes the decision that ultimately brings Jace's grand experiment crashing down.
