‘Magic: The Gathering’ Officially Reveals New ‘Masters of the Universe’ Crossover

Masters of the Universe made its big return to theaters earlier this summer, and Mattel clearly isn't done putting the franchise back in front of everyone. More than 40 years after He-Man and Skeletor first started fighting over Eternia, they're still finding new places to do it. Their next stop is a particularly fun one. Magic: The Gathering teased a Masters of the Universe collaboration earlier this year at MagicCon: Amsterdam, but we only got a look at a handful of pieces of artwork at the time. Now, Wizards of the Coast has revealed the whole thing, and He-Man isn't coming alone. Wizards of the Coast and Mattel have officially revealed Secret Lair x Masters of the Universe: The Most Powerful Superdrop in the Universe, and it's a lot bigger than just He-Man and Skeletor. By the Power of Grayskull! turns Winota, Joiner of Forces into "He-Man, Champion of Eternia," while Delina, Wild Mage becomes Orko and Bruenor Battlehammer becomes Man-At-Arms. There's also He-Man's Battle Harness, plus Crackle with Power, which doesn't even need a new name to make sense here. His cards also include Skeletor's Villainous Glee, Bottomless Pit, Evil Warriors' Shroud, and Rally the Evil Warriors. Her drop turns Sisay, Weatherlight Captain into "She-Ra, Princess of Power," with Swift Wind, Bow, and Catra joining her. Collecting the entire Superdrop also gives players the cards needed to bring everything together into a Masters of the Universe-themed Commander deck built around She-Ra. Sold Separately is basically the accessories aisle, with Battle Cat, Panthor, the Bone Throne, Sword of Power, and Command Tower all getting cards. Secret Lair x Masters of the Universe: The Most Powerful Superdrop in the Universe goes on sale September 14 at 9 a.m. PT and will only be available while supplies last. Fans who spend at least $149 will also receive an exclusive foil Swan Song, while supplies last.
