However, the existing provision of internal choices will continue for three-mark short-answer and four-mark long-answer questions. The revised rules will apply to examinations conducted from the 2026-27 academic session. INTERNAL CHOICES INTRODUCED IN NSQF SUBJECTSThe board has also introduced internal choices in five-mark long-answer and seven-mark essay-type questions in NSQF subjects. The change will give students studying these subjects an option while attempting questions carrying higher marks. The decisions follow the resolution of the Board of Secondary Education's Curriculum Committee meeting held on August 20, 2025. The decision was subsequently approved at the Executive Committee meeting on August 28, 2025.The notice outlines separate provisions for main subjects and NSQF subjects, specifying where internal choices will be discontinued, retained, or introduced in question papers. For main subjects, the removal of internal choices in two-mark questions means students will have to attempt the questions set by the board without an alternative question. Choices will remain available in three-mark and four-mark questions. For NSQF subjects, the introduction of internal choices in five-mark and seven-mark questions marks a change in the question paper format for the upcoming academic session.Students preparing for the MP Board examinations in Classes 9 to 12 should refer to the revised question paper pattern while preparing for the 2026-27 examinations.- Ends
