Maa in all her forms: Kajol shares pics with Tanuja, Tanishaa as Durga Puja begins

Kajol, her mother Tanuja and sister Tanishaa Mukerji came together to inaugurate the 80th edition of the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja in Mumbai on Durga Panchami. Photo: Instagram/Kajol Tanishaa also posted pictures from the event, which was attended by their cousins, filmmaker Ayan Mukerji and actor Sharbani Mukherjee, known for her role in Border.Calling it her favourite time of the year, Tanishaa wrote, “Favourite time of the year... Maa Aasche !! Durga Maa ki joi!!” The North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja was established in 1948 by filmmaker Sashadhar Mukherjee, founder of Filmalaya Studio, his wife Satirani Mukerji, J M Bhadra and 26 other members. The first celebrations were held at Sri Mandal Hall, also known as Poddar School, in Santacruz, Mumbai.The event later moved to Tulip Star Hotel in Juhu and is now held near SNDT Women's University in the same neighbourhood. The annual celebration has continued across generations of the Mukerji family. Veteran actor Deb Mukherjee, father of Ayan Mukerji, was closely associated with organising the puja until his death in 2025.Actor Rani Mukerji, who regularly attends the festivities, may not be part of this year's celebrations following the death of her mother, Krishna Mukherjee, on September 22.- Ends
