M&S Café launches ‘unreal’ Christmas menu fans say they ‘need to try’

It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas (Picture: Getty Images) Marks & Spencer is officially getting into the Christmas spirit, rolling out its festive café menu with a mix of returning favourites and exciting new launches. The supermarket’s seasonal line-up brings a wintry feel to high street lunch breaks, alongside a host of themed drinks and desserts designed to keep the chill at bay. Now available across the country’s 200 M&S Café locations, the new menu introduces the retailer’s first-ever Sweet Caramel Apple Toastie, which features layers of Bramley apple compote and vanilla custard in cinnamon-topped brioche-style bread. Served with a dedicated pot of caramel dipping sauce, this sweet twist on a savoury staple — priced at £6 — is almost like a cold weather version of this summer’s controversial strawberry sandwich. Or, shoppers can enjoy a Turkey Feast Toastie for £7.50, with a gluten-free version available for the same price. Better still? For an extra £1, you can add a Gravy Dipping Pot to your order. The Turkey Feast Toastie is an ideal lunch buy (Picture: Tom Regester) Rounding out the savoury selections are the French Brie & Cranberry Toastie costing £6.95 and a Christmas sandwich selection pack priced at £5.25 If sandwiches aren’t your thing though, there’s also a Turkey & Beechwood Smoked Ham Soup for £6.50, combining all the staples of the season in one warming bowl. That’s not all, either; M&S Café is also getting a whole host of creative new beverage options for the festive months. Kicking off the drinks is a £5.50 Caramelised Apple Matcha topped with creamy cold foam, that gives the popular green tea drink a spicy seasonal spin. Fans can also get their hands on a Malt Ball Hot Chocolate and Malt Ball Milkshake, or a Butterscotch Gingerbread Latte (served iced or hot), each priced at £4.75 each. And with 1p from every cup sold being donated to the A Cup of Ambition fund, which protects producers’ livelihoods and supports climate resilience, your little treat is spreading a little goodwill too. There are many options for festive drinks (Picture: Tom Regester) We can’t wait to try (Picture: Tom Regester) When it comes to sweet snacks, the bakery and dessert counter features a Clementine, Cranberry & Almond Bundt cake for £3.75, the Penguin Iced Biscuit for £2, and the Chocolate Orange Muffin for £2.25. Plus, the Chocolate, Caramel & Cornflake Cookie for £1.25, the M&S Collection Mince Pie for £2, and the Rodney Reindeer Chocolate Cake for £5.50. What do people think? Despite only having been out for a day, the supermarket’s Christmas menu has already won fans. ‘These look sooo nice,’ wrote Jane Brewster on Facebook, with Beverly Flanagan calling the range ‘amazing!’ ‘Need to try the Yorkshire pudding wrap,’ added Hannah Freestone, while Kendta Ward added: ‘Looks unreal.’ The Pigs Under Blankets Yorkshire Pudding Wrap is new for this year (Picture: Tom Regester) Over on Instagram, @adashandasplash described the range as ‘a major feast,’ while @mirifiquebeauty1 said they were ‘salivating’ at the thought. Like @got2nourish2flourish, many said they were ‘running to M&S’ to sample it all — a plan @nesibella90, who already had, endorsed, saying: ‘The Yorkshire wraps are delicious.’ As enthusiastic as fans were though, some said they wished there were a few more plant based sandwiches on offer. ‘We don’t have any new vegan options on our Christmas café menu I’m afraid,’ an M&S spokesperson responded to one commenter, ‘but I’ve let our Food Team know this is something you’d love to see from us moving forward.’ Which item from do you want to try the most?
