LXQt 2.5 released today as the newest feature update to this lightweight, Qt6-based desktop environment. LXQt 2.5 now targets the Qt 6.10 toolkit and newer. Also on the dependency side, LXQt no longer depends on menu-cache as its last LXDE dependency. LXQt was born out of the combination of the Razor-qt and LXDE projects. Finally with LXQt 2.5, no more LXDE dependencies remain now that LXQt has its own replacement that is better and faster. QTerminal and the QTermWidget have seen a bulk of the work in LXQt 2.5 with now supporting background image modes, a visual bell, silence notification, Shift+click selection, and other improvements as well as bug fixes. With this new version, PCManFM-Qt now supports incremental listing for search results but is disabled by default. With this incremental search it's easy to stop the search process should you already find your desired result(s). Downloads and more details on today's LXQt 2.5 release via GitHub.
