After a sweltering summer, I wished for the onset of wintery weather multiple times. But now that my wish has been granted, I’m wondering what, exactly, to wear. In an ideal world, it would be a story of constant cashmere and elevated separates – but without the price tag that kind of wardrobe usually entails.Luckily, there’s a newcomer to the UK market that specialises in exactly this: Quince. I’ve heard friends and editors from the US talk about the brand before, mostly because of its very reasonable cashmere prices (who could argue with a £50 cashmere sweater?) and washable silk pieces. But there are also high-quality children’s clothes and homeware that will give you a strong urge to upgrade your bedding. As a fashion editor, here are the Quince pieces on my wishlist – from great value cashmere to sumptuously soft sheets.Quince Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck Sweater in Heather GreyQuince/The StandardOnly a cashmere jumper will keep you both warm (out on the mean streets) and cool (inside in a stifling tube carriage). This is a reliable staple in an expensive-looking speckled grey hue with a price tag that’s almost half the M&S equivalent. It’s quite close-fitting, so size up or check out the men’s collection if you want to strike a more oversized mood. I’d also be tempted by the Varsity Red shade for an easy colour-pop and find myself wishing Quince made it in royal purple for the same reason.Quince Mongolian Cashmere Oversized V-Neck JumperQuince/The StandardQuince’s higher-priced cashmere is thicker, so this is the one to go for if you’re looking for a piece that will really last. Again, flecks of white in the ‘Elk Brown’ hue make it look more expensive than it is. I’d pair this one with jeans and boots for an easy weekend look, and maybe add a statement jacket or bag to pep things up a bit.Quince Organic Crisp & Smooth Cotton Deluxe Bedding BundleQuince/The StandardA friend recently told me that she had blind tested Quince’s sheets versus The White Company’s and, to her surprise, Quince’s came out on top. I can see why – the bed sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers are undeniably dreamy. My pick is the 400 thread count organic cotton ‘Crisp & Smooth’ bedding bundle, which is cool and breathable as well as soft. The finish is matt, which is great if you’re not keen on the shiny sateen look. Then there’s the price – £110 for a king-sized duvet cover, fitted sheet and pillowcases.Quince 100% Washable Silk Lace Cutout CamiQuince/The StandardI know it’s getting cold out there, but you’re still going to be heading in somewhere warm and cosy this season, aren’t you? I’d snap up a silk cami to layer under my cashmere just in case the mood to shed a few layers strikes.Quince Turkish Ultra Plush Bath Towel (Set of 2)Quince/The StandardIt can be hard to part with hard-earned cash for something as seemingly boring as a bath towel, but when you do, you realise that they’re one of life’s great small pleasures. This pair from Quince is only £35, in a lovely silvery shade of off-white that keeps them from looking too harsh on the rail.Quince 100% Washable Silk Skinny ScrunchiesQuince/The StandardSilk scrunchies for £3 each feels like a bit of a no-brainer, especially if your hair is shedding with the seasonal shift as much as mine is. Protect it with these.
