Luke Littler withdraws from two darts events less than 24 hours after missing out on PDC clean sweep

LUKE LITTLER has withdrawn from two darts events after his defeat at the World Series Finals. The Nuke was beaten by Jonny Clayton on Sunday 10-4 in the quarter-finals in Amsterdam. The World No1 had been scheduled to appear at the Players Championship 29 and 30 this week. The events were being held in Den Bosch, Holland but instead he has pulled out. This decision will effectively end his chances of qualifying for the finals in Minehead in November. Littler is currently 125th in the Order of Merit in the Players Championship circuit. He is £16,750 away from the final qualification spot in the top 64 players. Littler’s withdrawal comes just days after he threatened to boycott tournaments in Holland. The Warrington thrower had been targeted by fans with boos and whistles during the World Series. He was jeered by the home crowd during the first-round match with fan-favourite Danny Noppert. Littler has already taken a stand against the German fans after he was subjected to abuse there. He said: “With the Germans, I haven’t been for a long time. “We will have to see in Dortmund whether it changes or stays the same. “If the Dutch stay like this, then I’m not going to do any Euro Tours over there. “There’s just no point in me travelling, wasting my time while I’m getting booed. I just want to play my darts, obviously sign autographs. “The past two nights, I’ve done nothing. I’ve just walked off stage without thanking anybody. “There’s no point thanking everyone when they are booing me.” 1 comment1
