LSU cancels 2-game series with Arizona State in 2029-30

On3 Football LSU canceled a two-game series with Arizona State that was to be played in 2029-30, sources told On3. With the SEC moving to a nine-game league schedule this season, several SEC schools have been adjusting their future schedules by dropping non-conference Power 4 opponents. The teams were originally to play in 2005 in Baton Rouge, La., but the game at Tiger Stadium was moved to Arizona State after LSU’s campus was unable to host the game because of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The Sun Devils and Tigers were then scheduled to play in 2015-16. However, LSU needed to move the 2016 game with Arizona State so the Tigers could open the 2016 season against Wisconsin in Lambeau Field. The series then was moved again until the schools had settled on playing at LSU in 2029 and at Arizona State in 2030.
