"I know a lot of people have their opinions about Matt and I and how we live our life… but looking back at this past year only solidifies that… IDGAF. Every human being, no matter how caught up they get with society’s expectations, has their own unique desire for what they want their life to be and the life I dreamed about was based off of my own expectations and nobody else’s," Amber wrote via Instagram in December 2021. She added: "I have been nothing less than blessed to find a partner that looks at life the same way that I do, as an adventure meant to be lived out instead of just dreamt about. We have a full life that we get to share with each other and our family and friends, and if we had nothing else at the end of the day besides that, I would still say we have a life that’s good." The couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in November 2022. "4 years of being married to the hottest wife ever! Here's to at least 80 more anniversaries," Matt wrote via Instagram at the time, alongside a photo of him and Amber. In October 2024, the pair announced that Amber was pregnant with their first baby. Their daughter was born in April 2025. Mark, for his part, started dating Aubrey Rainey. They got engaged in November 2020 and share two sons. In 2021, the twosome once again pulled the plug on their romance. Damian, who was briefly linked to Too Hot To Handle's Francesca Farago, now appears to be enjoying the single life. Giannina, for her part, has been linked to Bachelorette's Blake Horstmann since January 2022. In June 2022, she called the Bachelor in Paradise alum the “love of [her] life.” The couple got engaged in November 2024 after welcoming their first baby, a son, earlier that year. Credit: Netflix (2) Kyle Abrams and Shaina Hurley After leaving the Mexico trip early during season 2, Kyle Abrams and Shaina Hurley, who got engaged in the pods, tried to make it work. However, their relationship differences — Shaina is a devout Christian, Kyle is an atheist — proved to be too much and they split before the wedding episode. “We don’t really talk. We don’t communicate,” Kyle exclusively told Us in February 2022. “There’s nothing left. I mean, we’re not friends or anything. She doesn’t come out much. That ship has sailed.” After debuting her relationship with Christos Lardakis in March 2022, the twosome exchanged vows at a Chicago courthouse that July and had a second ceremony in Greece that same month. Kyle, meanwhile, has been linked to Deepti, confirming during the After the Altar episodes, which started streaming in September 2022, that they are seeing each other. Three days after After the Altar started streaming, he confirmed the duo quietly split — and he had a new girlfriend. “Since After the Altar was filmed, we had decided to go our separate ways in early summer. Thank you to everyone who has followed our journey through arduous vulnerability and has supported us along the way,” Kyle wrote. "I have since embarked on a new relationship which I intend to keep private for a bit.” Credit: Ser Baffo/Netflix (2) Deepti Vempati and Abhishek 'Shake' Chatterjee After Abhishek 'Shake' Chatterjee admitted he was not physically attracted to his fiancée throughout season 2, Deepti Vempati said “no” during the finale. “I just don’t have room for anybody in my life that doesn’t see me in the best way. And who could even think those types of thoughts, I guess,” Deepti exclusively told Us in February 2022. “I knew what I had to do. No one should have doubts about me [on our wedding day] and I deserve the best. So it’s, like, if you’re not gonna be able to offer it for me, then there’s no chance I’m staying.” Shake debuted his relationship with Emily Wilson in March 2022 but they eventually split, while Deepti started seeing Kyle, revealing on the After the Altar special that he’s husband material. Deepti and Kyle, however, split after several weeks of dating. I was just feeling everything, and I really was trying to wrap my head around everything that we had been through together,” he told Us at the time. “I was really just kind of summarizing it in my head and I knew that at that moment of my wedding, I just wanted to make that choice with her. I wanted to see how I felt in that moment with her. It was a crazy day.” Credit: Ser Baffo/Netflix (2) Shayne Jansen and Natalie Lee While Shayne Jansen hoped to tie the knot with Natalie Lee, she walked away during the season 2 finale. Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Zack Goytowski and Irina Solomonova After getting engaged during season 4, Zack Goytowski and Irina Solomonova called it quits during the cast trip to Mexico. “I would say I made a mistake with not picking Bliss [Poureetezadi in the first place], and I think that was the real mistake,” Zack told Us after the show started streaming in March 2023. “I knew that when I ended it [with Irina] and was kind of dealing with that. I don’t know how much you could see of the turmoil that I was going through, but when I did end it, then my very first thing was I wanted to go and tell [producers] to bring [Bliss] back and that I had made the wrong choice, but I knew I had to live with the decision.” Irina, for her part, told Us that meeting Zack in person “was a lot more challenging than I thought it was gonna be.” She explained: “Like, it was really hard to connect the connection we made in the pods versus being together. I will say that when I saw him it wasn’t anything about his looks or anything, but I just had this gut feeling that something just didn’t feel right and I didn’t feel safe or comfortable. … It was just something that grew and I feel I was kinda trying to force or pressure myself to feel these feelings for him.” Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Jackelina ‘Jackie’ Bonds and Marshall Glaze After a series of post-pod fights in season 4, Jackelina ‘Jackie’ Bonds and Marshall Glaze ultimately called off their engagement ahead of their wedding day. “I knew as soon as we came back from Mexico and we started living together that it wasn’t gonna work out between me and Marshall,” Jackie exclusively told Us in March 2023. “[It was him calling me a ‘project’] and then there was another comment that he had made, and I'm not gonna go into that because it's very, very derogatory to a group. But, he made that comment and I was just like, ‘Yeah, I'm cool. Once you disrespect me and call me out on my character, as a woman, I'm not standing for that. I'm outta here.’” After the pair split, the dental assistant noted via confessional that she might start dating fellow costar Josh Demas or stay single and “work on myself.” Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Chelsea Griffin and Kwame Appiah Despite disagreeing about whether to live in Chelsea Griffin’s native Seattle or Kwame Appaih’s home base of Portland, the season 4 couple both said “I do” during their wedding day. Credit: Netflix (2) Micah Lussier and Paul Peden Micah Lussier opted to let Paul Pedan reveal his season 4 finale decision first and he chose to end their romance. “It was kind of the last chance [for Paul] to show me that [he was] willing to take the risk and take the jump,” the marketing manager exclusively told Us. “And I think that having him answer first was really the only way to do that. I worried that, maybe, he would say yes if I said yes — and I really wanted him to answer from his heart. And I felt like it was kind of like, ‘Alright, show me or don’t.’” Paul, for his part, told Us that he made his final choice while standing at the altar. He explained: “I don’t regret it. It was the right call, I think, at the time, and it was a realization that while we did love who we were in that moment, there’s a lot more to marrying someone than just that.” Credit: Netflix Tiffany Pennywell and Brett Brown Tiffany Pennywell and Brett Brown tearfully exchanged vows during the season 4 finale and decided to remain together. But to be honest, like, this was already in the motion [and] in the plan because of the Lord above.” In September 2023, Jackie revealed in a livestream shared via TikTok that she and Josh had split. “I’m still sick about it. I love that man,” she said at the time. “I was like, ‘Damn, I had all these life plans with you and then you just don’t even care.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s crazy.’” Credit: Monty Brinton/Netflix Izzy Zapata and Stacy Snyder Izzy Zapata was torn between Stacy Snyder and Johnie Maraist in the season 5 pods, before ultimately choosing to propose to Stacy. When they got to their wedding day, Stacy said “no” at the altar and cited that they needed more time as a couple before tying the knot. While she did want to keep dating, Izzy was ready to get married, and so, they split. In summer 2024, Stacy came out as queer. "Surprise! #🌈," she teased via Instagram. Credit: Netflix Milton Johnson and Lydia Velez Gonzalez Milton Johnson and Lydia Velez Gonzalez — despite concerns over their seven-year age gap and her past with fellow contestant Uche Okoroha — got married during the season 5 finale. “I think [what] it really just comes down to is our values were the same,” Milton exclusively told Us Weekly before the September 2023 premiere. “We had the same morals, we wanted the same things out of life. From day one, it just kind of felt like a hit, just felt like a match. So, we just wanted to really pursue that and see where it could take us.” He continued: “I think the thing that I liked most about Lydia is [that] we’re so similar in a lot of different ways when it comes to what industry we work in and we’re both born on islands, but when it comes to our emotional intelligence and being vulnerable, we’re on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. And that’s something I really value because there’s a part of me that understands like, ‘Hey, maybe this is abnormal. Maybe I am a little bit too emotionally reserved.’” Lydia revealed in June 2025 that she was filing for divorce shortly before their third anniversary. Their divorce was finalized in January 2026. Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Taylor Rue and Jared 'JP' Pierce Taylor Rue and Jared “JP” Pierce sparked an instant connection in the Love Is Blind season 5 pods, referring to one another as “sugar” and “sugar butt” before getting engaged sight unseen. Their bond faltered once they met in person, however, with JP complaining that Taylor often wore too much makeup. She in turn criticized his lack of communication skills. “I didn’t call it off [just] because of the makeup comment. Yes, it’s hurtful, but I would never end a relationship because of an opinion,” Taylor exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2023. “I left because the version of JP that I fell in love with was no longer there and that was scary to me. I was supposed to go home and live with this person and I felt like I didn’t even know him in Mexico. So, I thought long and hard because part of me wanted to stay and part of me was like, ‘I’m done. I’m going home.’” JP, meanwhile, didn’t address the situation right away after their breakup aired. Their relationship seemed to flourish after they met and they went on a trip to the Dominican Republic. After they returned home to Charlotte, Brittany noticed a disconnect between her and Kenneth after he started frequently ignoring her for his phone. They ultimately decided to call off their engagement over a lack of intimacy. “This is not going to work but I do want you to find the person who you're supposed to be with,” Kenneth told an emotional Brittany, pulling her in for a friendly hug. Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Chelsea Blackwell and Jimmy Presnell Chelsea Blackwell and Jimmy Presnell also ended their season 6 engagement ahead of their planned wedding day. “We were fighting really hard to get there, and I had really strong feelings about her,” Jimmy exclusively told Us. “We’re learning more and more about each other [every] single day and the couple days leading up to it, it was more of a fight to give her one extra day, unfortunately. … She broke my trust in a big way, and that really, really hurt me. And it was all I could think about. And that came from a place of me caring about my friends and not wanting my friends' details and everything out there. I loved her.” Chelsea, meanwhile, stressed to Us that she was “blindsided” by the breakup since they were talking about their first dance song one day earlier. Jimmy ultimately couldn’t get past Chelsea discussing his past hookup with one of his female friends on camera. “We are in a relationship and in the normal world, of course, the cameras meant nothing to me. I was living my life,” Chelsea recalled to Us. “I'm trying to decide if I need to make this huge decision, if I'm going to say yes or no, and this is a huge elephant in the room for me.” Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Laura Dadisman and Jeramey Lutinski After Jeramey Lutinski proposed to Laura Dadisman over fellow season 6 contestant Sarah Ann Bick, their relationship faltered when they met face-to-face. Laura even claimed that Jeramey cheated on her with Sarah Ann. “Don’t share your f—king location if you don’t want me to check it at 5 a.m.,” Laura quipped during a fight. “You weren’t even in South End, you were north of Uptown, which is where Sarah Ann lives. I literally knew. … I don’t have anything else to say. I want out.” Credit: Netflix Sarah Ann Bick and Jeramey Lutinski Although Jeramey Lutinski chose Laura Dadisman over Sarah Ann Bick in the pods, the twosome called it quits after Laura caught Jeramey hanging out with Sarah Ann until 5 a.m. Jeramey and Sarah Ann then reconnected face-to-face during a season 6 lake party and sparked a romance after filming wrapped. The couple revealed their relationship at the season 6 reunion in March 2024, where they admitted to calling it quits a few times before ultimately moving in together. Seven months later, Jeramey and Sarah Ann called quits for good. Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Amber ‘AD’ Smith and Clay Gravesande AD Smith was all-in on Clay Gravesande and “I do” on the wedding day moments before he rejected her. Clay, who had struggled throughout the experience with the concept of monogamy, proclaimed that he “wasn’t ready” to get married but still “rocked with [AD].” AD, however, did not want to date Clay after he called off their wedding at the altar. In the pods, the two D.C. locals quickly bonded over their backgrounds in science and similar mathematic-themed tattoos. Taylor, however, opted against sharing her mom’s name as it gave away clues about her ethnicity. “When it came to talking about how I looked in the pods, I really wanted to keep that as secret as possible,” Taylor exclusively told Us. “And I didn’t really think long and hard about [whether] I was going to bring up my ethnicity. I was just kind of trying to watch myself and on, like, would I slip or not? And my mom’s name is Fong so that, I think, gives away pretty clearly that I’m Asian. I just wanted to take ethnicity out the equation.” Garrett understood Taylor’s perspective, later deciding to propose. He first got a clue into Taylor’s heritage when he saw her in person at their reveal. In episode 10, Taylor learned that Garrett received an unwarranted text from his ex and she was upset that he responded by “liking” the message. It later was revealed that Garrett actually responded to his past partner, confirming his engagement. Taylor and Garrett’s relationship was back on track before he met her family ahead of their wedding day. They said “I do” in the season 7 finale. A lot of men look for safety and at that point when I first met her, she made me feel extremely safe,” Tyler gushed to Us in October 2024. “It was like a warm soul coming through the wall, and I just knew that that was my person.” Despite Tyler’s bombshell about previously donating sperm to a friend, they both decided to get married. She ultimately decided that she saw Bohdan more as a friend and was in love with Ramses, who proposed. Ramses questioned whether he was into Marissa enough to walk down the aisle, but episode 11 ended on a cliffhanger before he made a decision. In episode 12, Ramses revealed he wasn’t ready to get married, and he and Marissa broke up days before their scheduled wedding ceremony. Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Hannah Jiles and Nick Dorka Hannah Jiles was involved in a love triangle with Nick Dorka and Leo Braudy in season 7, struggling to pick her top choice. At one point, Hannah even decided to end her connection with Nick in pursuit of Leo. She had a change of heart when Nick professed his love hours before Leo did the same. “I think it was really hard with Leo and Nick because I liked them both and they’re very different,” Hannah told Us. “I was like, ‘OK, I think I need to make a decision. … Nick, I think we need to break up. I just think maybe we’re just not compatible.’ And then as soon as I broke up with him I was, like, [sobbing] so I was like, ‘Maybe I made the wrong decision.’ I just instantly regretted it and I knew. I chose Nick because I just, like, knew he was my person.” Hannah and Leo “mutually” agreed to part ways and the medical device saleswoman accepted a proposal from Nick. Their relationship, however, faltered in the real world as Hannah began documenting a list of grievances about her fiancé. Fans will have to keep watching to see if they say “I do.” Hannah broke off their relationship during episode 11 after questioning Nick’s maturity levels. Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Brittany Wisniewski and Leo Braudy At the same time that Leo Braudy was speaking to Hannah Jiles in the pods, he also formed a connection with Brittany Wisniewski. After the esthetician learned of Leo and Hannah’s breakup, she was heartbroken but still ended up accepting his proposal. When they met in person, Brittany said she wasn’t ready to tell Leo that she was in love. The pair ultimately split weeks later and were not featured in the post-pod episodes. “I think it was pretty mutual,” Leo told Entertainment Weekly in October 2024. “After the reveal, the producers asked if we wanted to be put in touch, which we of course did. And we decided, 'Let's have our own version of a post-reveal engagement trip,' so we spent a few days in L.A. and a few days in Miami, and while we had an amazing time, I think we both realized that we just weren't really going to end up getting married." He added, “And after a lot of thought, we decided that we just didn't see it happening, and we're really good as friends." Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Monica Davis and Stephen Richardson Monica Davis and Stephen Richardson from season 7 were all in until Stephen was caught texting another woman about his “fetishes” when he was supposedly spending the night away for a sleep study. They split during episode 8. "Ugh, you were laying in a sleep test bed texting a girl while you are engaged, that you want to do dirty kinks. It was disgusting," Monica declared. Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Daniel Hasting and Taylor Haag Daniel Hasting and Taylor Haag hit it off inside the season 8 pods, especially bonding over their shared love of Christmas. Their relationship faltered as soon as they saw one another in person, however, when Taylor wondered whether Daniel tried to follow her on Instagram ahead of the pod experiment. (Daniel denied the accusations.) “I was like, ‘I understand what she’s saying.’ And [my husband Nick’s] like, ‘I don’t think it’s that big of a deal,’” cohost Vanessa Lachey told Us Weekly in February 2025. “If somebody is following you and does know a lot about you, is that fair?” she pondered. “And it didn’t give you an opportunity to truly get to know them for who they are because that is personal. That is why it’s Instagram and it’s posted. She had this little voice in the back of her head, and I’m really proud of her for speaking up on it.” They were the only season 8 couple to say “I do.” Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Joey Leveille and Monica Danús Joey Leveille and Monica Danús' engagement was the first one featured in season 8. Amid their whirlwind engagement, Lauren questioned Dave’s hesitance to introduce her to his friends (and sister) while he grappled with her pre-show fling. They ended up calling off their engagement ahead of their wedding day. “There was definitely an element of sadness, but I do feel like you see the moment that I shift — when he starts to get mad at me and mad at my family,” Lauren exclusively told Us of the moment they broke up. “The anger that came from him, I was done. I immediately knew we’re never getting past this. My husband would not speak to me like this. I hope that that comes across clear.” Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Ben Mezzenga and Sara Carton While Sara Carton was all-in on Ben Mezzenga in the pods, she eventually became wary of their opposing political viewpoints. Sara is an outspoken advocate, while Ben has refused to get involved with either political party. She shrugged off her hesitations to accept a proposal. Sara broke up with Ben at the altar because they weren’t on “the same wavelength.” “I know that everyone is on a different wavelength. Everyone's on a different path. We're all evolving, growing people and, like, we only know what we know, but the conversation matters,” Sara exclusively told Us of her decision. “I also want a partner who's curious. I want to live and learn, grow together and do that together. We may never have all the right answers, which is fine, but just at least actively being present in the real world of what's happening around us, I think, is important. I wasn't necessarily looking for a right or wrong answer.” Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Devin Buckley and Virginia Miller Devin Buckley connected with Virginia Miller and Brittany Dodson during season 8, ultimately breaking up with Brittany in favor of Virginia, who went to his high school years before him. I, on the other hand, had some concerns, nervous, scared, anxious,” Joe told Us in October 2025. “I know she wanted to keep on with the experiment, go through, get as much as you can out of it, in the way of, ‘Is this my person?’ More time for discovering that. Kacie broke up with Patrick shortly after their post-pod reveal, citing lack of physical attraction. “He deserves somebody better than me. He’s not a bad-looking guy in any sense, but he deserves somebody that is so obsessed with him,” she said in a confessional. “I just, unfortunately, don’t think my attraction to him is gonna grow that much, and it sucks.” Kacie rejected the chance of going on the cast’s Mexico trip with Patrick, but appeared to remain open to dating when they returned to Denver. Patrick, however, claimed that Kacie never wanted to meet up again and planned to keep her ring. Kacie denied the claims, arguing that Patrick was the one who refused to meet her. I’m so sorry.” Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Edmond Harvey and Kalybriah Haskin Kalybriah Haskin also broke up with Edmond Harvey at the season 9 altar after he revealed that he was saying “yes.” “I’m so sorry. You deserve someone who is 100 percent at the altar, and I’m not 100 percent right now,” Kalybriah said. “My ‘no’ doesn’t mean that I don’t love you, it doesn’t mean that I don’t accept you [and] I’m so sorry. This was not an easy decision. Thank you for being so graceful. You are amazing, you are enough, but the doubt I have to honor, you know?” Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Jordan Keltner and Megan Walerius Megan Walerius (a.k.a. “Sparkle Megan”) ended her engagement to Jordan Keltner just before their season 9 wedding, revealing incompatibilities in their lifestyles. “I feel like we’re ships in the night, like two different people,” Megan said. “You are very simple, doing the same things every day [and] eating the same things, all of that. You’re a picky eater, I’m an adventurous eater.” Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Christine Hamilton and Victor St. John Christine Hamilton got engaged to Victor St. John during season 10, which aired in February 2026, and had in-depth conversations about the realities of raising a biracial child in Ohio. That comparison is, kind of, what I’m used to and what’s new to me.” Brianna, however, called off their engagement before the planned wedding day. They ultimately decided to continue dating. After their Mexico vacation, Jordan met Amber’s then-7-year-old daughter and her father as he questioned his readiness to move to Amber’s hometown and settle down. Jordan squashed his fears after meeting Amber’s daughter, Emma, and said “yes” at the altar. Amber also agreed to marry Jordan. Amber and Jordan, however, split after four months. The pair broke up days before their wedding. “Sometimes he was so in [and] ready to build this life together, and we were on the same page that we were in the pods,” Brittany exclusively told Us in March 2026. “We were very much in alignment, and then there would be days where he would just wake up and he was feeling the weight of the world and everything that was happening, and I would feel that in return.” Credit: Courtesy of Netflix Chris Fusco and Jessica Barrett While Chris Fusco and Jessica Barrett got engaged during season 10, they called it quits shortly after moving in together. Chris claimed that he wasn’t physically attracted to the physician. “We’re in very different places in our lives — workwise and everything,” Jessica told Tudum in February 2026. “That became a bit more in his face once we were actually in each other’s spaces. The other women were like, ‘Oh, so he saw your house and then freaked out?’ I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, maybe that’s part of it.’”
