Lost bag containing gold, laptop, valuables worth ₹29 lakh recovered by Railway Protection Force in Bengaluru

He inadvertently left his bag in coach B3 while deboarding the train at Krishnarajapuram (K.R. Puram) in Bengaluru. The bag contained gold ornaments and other valuable belongings, according to officials.“After receiving information about an unattended bag, RPF Bengaluru alerted the on-duty staff. When the train subsequently arrived at KSR Bengaluru Railway Station on Platform 5, RPF personnel went to the coach and searched the area,” an official said.“The personnel located the unattended bag and took it to the RPF office for verification and safe custody,” the official added.Later, Santosh reached KSR Bengaluru Railway Station, along with his family, and approached the RPF personnel to report the loss of his bag. After verifying his identity and travel particulars, the RPF personnel showed him the recovered bag, which he positively identified as his.The bag was opened in the presence of the on-duty RPF personnel and its contents were verified, the official said. It contained approximately 189 grams of gold ornaments, valued by the passenger at around ₹27.15 lakh, along with a laptop, ₹53,240 in cash, a laptop bag, and other accessories.After completing the necessary verification and formalities, the RPF handed over the entire bag and its contents safely to Santosh.
