She told Closer magazine this week: 'I was a size 14 and now I'm back in a 10 which is really good for my health. I've got back my waist thanks to exercising and the walking.'I do a lot of swimming as well. I'm always going to be somebody that's got a wee bit of a tummy, because I'm a woman and we do have that. But thanks to all the exercise I've definitely noticed a difference all over really.'I was chunky, I'd been comfort eating and that was a wake-up call. So we both really got onto it. We stopped boozing and the chocolate plate at night.' She added that the weight loss and being fitter has also come in handy when it has come to babysitting her two-year-old granddaughter who she often has to run around after.Lorraine Kelly has declared 'I've got my waist back' after swapping booze and 'comfort eating' for gym sessions and walking (seen left this month and right in December 2025)Last month Lorraine revealed how she slimmed down for her daughter Rosie's wedding after ditching her nightly 'chocolate plate' and quitting alcohol.Lorraine was every inch the proud parent as influencer Rosie, 32, tied the knot with her partner Steve White at the Andy Murray-owned Cromlix Hotel near Dunblane, in Stirling, in July. The nuptials were a hugely important day for mother-of-the-bride Lorraine, who wanted to make sure she was looking her best.Lorraine and her husband took on the healthier approach together earlier this year after she became unhappy with her size 16 figure – and the star has said she is loving the results. She told Saga Magazine: 'We both decided that we would go to the gym twice a week to this class specifically for over-60s. And it's fantastic. It's all about building up muscle strength and balance.'My husband stopped giving me massive portions because he does all the cooking, but he gives me huge portions. Of course, I'm greedy, so I eat them. So we cut that back and we cut down a chocolate plate because every night watching the telly, we'd have a cup of tea.'And it started off as maybe half a bar of chocolate or a biscuit. And I can't open a packet of biscuits and just have one. Who can open a bag of sweeties and just have one? No, that's not right. So we stopped that completely.'She added that they also 'stopped boozing' – but did indulge in a glass of champagne at the wedding. Lorraine went on to say that she is now 'looking after herself a lot better' by also taking supplements, going to the gym, swimming and taking the dog for walks. Decompressing in Edinburgh after the most special weekend of our lives – will share more soon but taking the time to just soak it all up.'Steve proposed to Rosie two years ago in June 2024 while Rosie was pregnant with their first child. Two months later they welcomed baby girl Billie – making Lorraine a grandmother.Lorraine has previously said she feels like she is getting a second chance at motherhood as she opened up about being a grandma. The star and her husband Steve have recently moved just six minutes away from their daughter's family, and the legendary broadcaster admitted she is 'getting a chance to be a mum again' after the challenges of raising Rosie while she was working. Speaking about being a grandma to the Daily Mail, Lorraine said: 'It's great. To be honest with you, I'm getting a chance to be a mum again in a way.'I'm not being a mum again because [Rosie's] her mum and she's got her mum, but I'm getting a chance to do it again and hopefully to do it better.'Reflecting on juggling motherhood and her career she explained: 'Because when I had Rosie I was in my 30s, I think I was 34 and I was working and it's always harder if you're the mother.'Praising her daughter in the joint interview, she continued: 'I think you're amazing. She's incredible, absolutely incredible. I don't know how you do everything that you do, but it's lovely when it's your grandchild because you read those books that you read yourself.'It's just lovely, and she's a wee lamb. She's a credit to you. She's an absolute angel.'
