LOOSE Women’s Christine Lampard has bagged herself a new job on This Morning after the ITV show is axed for the Summer amid cost cuts. The broadcaster have reduced Loose Women from running year-round to a 30-week schedule, including no shows over the Summer. ITV and This Morning took to Instagram on Thursday to share the news and announced Christine will host alongside Craig Doyle. Sign up for the TV newsletter Thank you! The other host pairings that have been revealed are Paddy McGuinness and Josie Gibson, Andi Peters and Rochelle Humes and Craig along with Angela Scanlon. Also taking to the iconic sofa this Summer are Josie along with Rylan Clark as well as Sian Welby and Joel Dommett. She’s been an anchor on the show since 2016, having initially joined as a guest panellist before being bumped up to a regular fixture. ITV’s daytime schedule shake up came into play back in January, with the Loose ladies and Lorraine only appearing for 30 weeks out of the year. As well as this, Lorraine Kelly‘s self-titled show was reduced by 30 minutes and only airs for half an hour when it is on. ITV implemented cost savings of £35 million and over 220 jobs were cut as a result of it. Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Division, said last year: “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres. “These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever.” He added: “Daytime has been a core element of ITV’s schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award-winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade.
