Longtime North Carolina Agencies Breeden and Citizens Group Have Merged

Two of central North Carolina’s oldest insurance agencies have agreed to merge, bringing more than 140 years of combined insurance experience to the table. Breeden Insurance Services, based in Lexington and Winston-Salem, and Citizens Insurance Group in Thomasville are now under the same aegis, although agency names have not changed. Breeden, founded in 1963, is led by President Mark Breeden. It is a third-generation, family-owned agency that offers personal and commercial coverage plans, according to local news reports. Citizens was started in 1938 and is headed by President Greg Prevo and Vice President Mitzi Watford. The combined agency group will be managed by leadership teams from both agencies.
