The jet appears to be diverting, given that it has descended (at the time of writing) to an altitude of 26,000 feet and entered into a circular holding pattern. While currently unclear, such patterns are sometimes used in diversion situations as a means of burning off excess fuel before a premature landing. The aircraft in question bears the registration D-AIHX, with the flight being numbered as LH418.
