Alabama football beat Kentucky Saturday in Lexington, 45-17. Says the win was “far from perfect.” Notes that he’s proud of the Crimson Tide for fighting through its issues to get the win against Saturday. Says UA lost comms between coordinators and quarterback during the third quarter.-- Says nothing crazy happened at halftime, but Alabama locked in. Praises Daniel Hill for his 100-yard rushing day and says Jireh Edwards played well 19 days after a surgery for a broken arm.-- First question is about Alabama’s run game. Says the Tide had the ability to do so throughout the game, but being behind the chains in the first half really hurt. Says Keelon Russell needs to hand off on RPOs more than he did against Kentucky.-- DeBoer says Russell stays cool and calm even when he wasn’t playing well. Says he doesn’t want to take Russell’s aggressiveness from him, but UA needs to help him develop. -- Question is about defensive adjustments. DeBoer says the Crimson Tide did a good job keeping Kentucky under wraps throughout the game, and when Alabama took the lead it took the Wildcats away from how they wanted to play offense. -- DeBoer says Alabama knows it is going to get every fan base’s best shot when it goes on the road. Says he thinks most of Alabama’s players were able to handle it based on past experience. Doesn’t think the Crimson Tide lost any confidence based on the crowd in Lexington.-- DeBoer says Zabien Brown and Ryan Coleman-Williams displayed solid leadership at halftime.
