CJP Delhi ProtestCJP Jantar Mantar Protest Live Updates: After a day of mass detentions, sweeping security restrictions and allegations of an undeclared Emergency, the national capital is bracing for another showdown at Jantar Mantar today. The CJP has vowed to continue its agitation until Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar resigns over alleged electoral roll irregularities, including the alleged deletion and manipulation of 13 crore votes. On Saturday, police detained hundreds of protesters and several opposition leaders, while CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and co-convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained inside an aircraft after it landed in Delhi. The party has alleged that their whereabouts remain unknown and demanded their immediate release and access to lawyers. With its top leadership still at the centre of a detention row, national organisation in-charge Ajinkya Shinde has taken charge of the agitation and announced another demonstration at Jantar Mantar at 10 am on Sunday, October 11. He has urged supporters to turn up in large numbers and continue protesting wherever police stop them. Meanwhile, Delhi Police has warned of possible traffic disruptions across New Delhi and Central Delhi, with diversions potentially coming into effect from 6 am, depending on ground conditions. Commuters heading to the airport, railway stations and inter-state bus terminals have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly. With heavy security deployment and restrictions on public gatherings, the big question is whether the protesters will be able to reach Jantar Mantar and sustain the agitation.
