This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.Last Updated: 12:45 AM EST Nov 5 2026 by Tom Boon Singapore Airlines has unveiled the next stage in its total refresh of the passenger experience. Today, the Asian airline revealed its new first-class and business-class seats to the world at an event held at the Marina Bay Sands Exhibition Centre in Singapore. The airline will spend more than $2bn SGD ($1.5bn) on the upgrade program. Airlines around the world are constantly looking to innovate when it comes to passenger experience. With a trophy cabinet of awards, including 2026 SkyTrax Best Airline, Singapore Airlines is looking at the experience in more detail than some others. A cabin refresh that was initially planned to launch with the arrival of the Boeing 777-9 is now expected from H2 next year and will also apply to some of the airline’s Airbus A350-900s. CEO Welcomes Guests To Singapore Friday, November 6th, 12:45 AM EST Credit: Singapore Airlines Singapore Airlines CEO, Goh Choon Phong, is welcoming the media and invited guests to Singapore ahead of the reveal of the new Singapore Airlines long-haul and ultra-long-haul cabins. He confirmed that Singapore Airlines will be bringing first class to the world's longest flight between Singapore and New York. "The A350 ultra-long-range aircraft will also feature the new first-class cabin, and this will be the first time we're featuring first-class on the ultra-long-range planes. So, when you take our flight between Singapore and New York in the future, you will also have the option of going in a first-class cabin." Business Class Departs Singapore Airlines' Identity Friday, November 30th, 12:30 AM EST Credit: Singapore Airlines Singapore Airlines has taken a bold approach with its new business class cabin, designed in collaboration with BMW’s Design Works and RECARO. The new seats are incredibly well thought out from a passenger experience. However, the colour scheme is a departure from the usual Batik-inspired palette that the airline has become famous for. When describing the new cabin, one of the features consistently pointed out by the Chief Commercial Officer, Lee Lik Hsin, was the fact that passengers sit and sleep facing forward. Work, sleep, dining, and relaxing have all been considered. The seat, for example, has a dedicated space to place your laptop during the meal service, a huge bugbear for many passengers during the meal service. Additionally, the airline will also be introducing doors to its business class seats for the first time. Arguably the biggest upgrade that Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 passengers will see is the introduction of double beds in select business class seats. According to Singapore Airlines, the full-flat beds measure 79 inches in length and up to 24 inches in width, while a padded bedsheet with memory foam will provide "additional cushioning and support". First Class Offers "The Largest Bed In Commercial Aviation" Friday, November 30th, 12:30 AM EST Credit: Singapore Airlines When it comes to first class, Singapore Airlines has another bespoke product. Designed with PriestmanGoode, each first class cabin will have six seats, each with a floor to ceiling enclosure. Unlike the business class, the first class cabin sticks to the established Singapore Airlines design language. The highlight of the first class cabin is the two center seats. These can be combined to make a sofa or double bed. The seats can be synchronised and adjusted as one. Of course, if the passengers occupying these seats are unknown to each other, a full height wall is able to separate them. Singapore Airlines says that combined, the center seats offer “The largest double bed in commercial aviation”, measuring 80 inches in length and 60 inches in width. Another particular highlight of the seat, built by Collins Aerospace, is the option for face to face dining at all seats, allowing up to four people to dine together in the center seats.
