Nearly 70 protesters were detained and over 60 sustained injuries, with CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka alleging that some of them suffered severe skull and rib injuries. More than 118 police personnel, including several senior officers, were also injured. In a statement, Delhi Police mentioned these persons and their accounts, accusing them of displaying "unruly, aggressive and violent behaviour" during the protest and attacking security personnel, damaging government vehicles and public property. An FIR is also going to be registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and other applicable laws for rioting, assault on public servants, damage to public property, and other offences committed during the stir. Meanwhile, senior CJP leaders met Union Minister JP Nadda and submitted a charter of demands. However, Ranka claimed that they had not received any response from the Centre. Security has been tightened at Jantar Mantar this morning as the protest is expected to continue. The CJP organised the march to protest irregularities in the NEET examination, demand sweeping education reforms and seek the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
