This comes after five days of disruption to the urban rail network due to security reasons amid the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) agitation, which ended on Saturday after Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation as Union Education Minister and a third round of talks between the government and the outfit. While entry gates were opened at all 18 affected Delhi Metro stations on Saturday itself, the exit gates were opened hours later, early on Sunday. The stations that had remained closed over the past few days were Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhambha Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium, Jhandewalan and New Delhi. Following this, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) launched a large-scale cleanliness drive at the site. The civic body's Vice Chairman, Kuljeet Chahal, was personally present during the overnight operation. He said, "By the time Delhi wakes up, we will ensure that the entire NDMC area is clean and spotless."
