Credit: Oscar Wong NEW and expecting parents can get money off everything from children’s shoes to groceries and days out through a little-known discount app. A website called Cubbi is currently offering exclusive deals at more than 300 brands to new and expecting parents, and it’s completely free to join. The platform, which describes itself as being “like UNiDAYS for mums and dads”, is designed to help new parents cut the cost of having kids. Cubbi was founded by sisters Olivia and Tanyka Davson after Olivia found her finances squeezed while on maternity leave. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! The pair launched the platform in February 2024 with just 30 brands, and it has since grown to offer discounts at hundreds of retailers. The sisters also appeared on BBC‘s Dragons’ Den, where Susie Ma offered them £50,000 for a 10% stake in their business earier this year. Current deals available on the website include 15% off a £65 spend at Clarks and 20% off a £100 spend, which could come in handy for parents picking up new shoes ahead of the school term. Parents can also get 15% off Adidas, up to 25% off Crocs and 10% off FatFace, while offers on baby essentials include 20% off at Tommee Tippee and 5% off at Mamas and Papas. There are also big savings on groceries and food including £8 off a £60 shop at Iceland, and 50% off at Pizza Hut. Other deals currently advertised include 15% off Alton Towers tickets and Chessington World of Adventures tickets and you can get £50 offJet2 Holidays if you want to take a family trip abroad. Most read in Money Household goods are also covered, with current deals including £25 off large kitchen appliances at Currys and a gift card worth up to £50 with energy supplier EDF. You can even get a 10% discount at Pets at Home if you have pets living with the family. Discounts vary by retailer and may come with minimum spend requirements or other terms and conditions, so it’s worth checking the details before buying anything to ensure you qualify. Some offers can be used online, while others are available in stores through a QR code in the Cubbi app. The deals can change regularly, with new brands and offers added over time, so it’s worth checking the app before making a purchase. Who can get the discounts? Cubbi is open to expecting parents and those with a child aged under 18 months. You can sign up from the first trimester of pregnancy and it does not matter whether it is your first child or your fifth. Adoptive, foster and surrogate parents can also be eligible. You’ll need to provide evidence that you qualify, such as a birth certificate, maternity exemption certificate or MATB1 form, or documentation from an adoption, foster or surrogacy agency. Cubbi says the evidence is only used to verify your eligibility and is deleted from its system once it has been reviewed. Most applicants are approved within minutes, according to the firm, although some applications may require an extra manual check. Once approved, you can access the discounts through the free Cubbi app or its website. The app also lets shoppers use QR codes to access some discounts in stores and sends notifications when new deals become available. You can still join if you have already returned to work after parental leave, provided the evidence you use to verify your eligibility is dated within the past 18 months. The firm says it is currently working on opening its community to parents of older children too – so keep an eye out if you don’t currently qualify. Comment now
