Lisa swoops in on David after a shocking shooting on Coronation Street

| Freelance Soaps Reporter Published October 4, 2026 5:00pm Is the long arm of the Weatherfield law coming for David Platt? (Picture: ITV) In his twenty six year stint on Coronation Street, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) has never killed anyone… yet. That’s a pretty impressive claim to make for anyone who lives on the most dramatic cobbled streek in Britain, especially when you’ve come as close to taking a life as David. We’re talking about the man who pushed his mother Gail Platt (Helen Lederer) down the stairs, caused a horrific car crash that left his brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) with brain damage, and lost his wife Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) to a brutal stabbing at the hands of criminal Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison). David might be sarcastic, moody and downright vengeful sometimes, but to give him his due, he’s never murdered anyone. Then again, he’s never met Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) before. The crazed cuckoo-in-the-nest is the half-sister of David’s wife Shona (Julia Goulding), and is on mission to steal her half-sister’s family… including David. The bunny-boiling baddie has been constantly sabotaging sabotaging Shona at every turn, to make her look like a unfit mother, with the aim of showing David just what a good replacement wifey she’d make. Jodie’s desperately trying to lure David away from Shona (Picture: ITV) However, David rebuffed Jodie’s previous attempt to seduce him. So when he discovers how Jodie endangered their premature baby Harper by pouring boiling water into her bath tub, or how she almost burned the house down by leaving the oven on and tried to frame Shona for it, David’s going to hit the roof. Good job there’s not a gun in the house. Oh. Wait a minute. There is. Ask Metro Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about – powered by Metro and trusted publications. The gun that Jodie stole from Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) is hidden, locked and loaded. This coming week in Coronation Street, that gun is set to go off, as well as a bunch of secrets when Jodie and Shona’s sisterly feud is pushed to breaking point. A flashforward shows the living room at number strewn with someone’s belongings as a paramedic tends to a casualty on the floor. Busted! Jodie’s plan comes crashing down (Picture: ITV) When a weapon is drawn, the situation spirals into chaos and a gunshot rings out. As the dust settles, one person lies stricken and the family is left reeling in horror. But who has been shot and will they survive? Enter DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers). The Cobbles copper has got a history of nicking villains. After all, she arrested David’s sister Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) for the murder of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright). But will she get her man this time? Swain’s on the case. (Picture: ITV) After the shooting, a devastated David calls an ambulance in a panic and explains that someone has been shot. The paramedics arrive together with the firearms officer.
