Linux 7.3 Lands More Audio Workarounds For Laptops & Other Devices

Following last week's main set of sound subsystem updates for Linux 7.3 that brought a lot of new audio hardware support, a second round of sound updates were merged this weekend ahead of today's Linux 7.3-rc1 release. This second set of sound updates were focused on "fixes" but also include a lot of device hardware quirks to make various laptops and other audio devices now provide better sound support under Linux. There are also some new device IDs and more making for this interesting fixes pull request: - The Logitech PRO X Wireless headset has a hot-pluggable microphone that becomes confused on Linux when the microphone is detached. There's a fix for that in Linux 7.3 plus also its minimum volume level handling for mute. - A quirk is added for the MSI Thin A15 B7UC laptop to enable support for its internal microphone on that AMD Ryzen laptop. - For the Intel Hades Canyon NUC from 2018 a quirk is added for the ALC700 codec. When rebooting from Windows into Linux, the ALC700 codec was unusable. With the code for Linux 7.3, it will now be properly initialized even if rebooting from Windows to Linux. - The Creative Sound Blaster Play! 3 now has a quirk to deal with the minimum mute value. - Fixing microphone detection for the TongFang XxAF5xxx that is also a laptop model shipped by TUXEDO Computers. - A quirk for the SMSL USB DAC to avoid an audible pop sound during kernel module probe-time setup or when returning from runtime suspend. - Patches to get the M-Audio Venom USB-based synthesizer to work under Linux. The MIDI usage had worked under Linux but the USB interface hadn't worked until now. - Fixing the microphone mute LED for the HP Laptop 15-fd0039nt. - New Realtek RT766/RT767 VA1 device IDs in the SoundWire RT766 driver. - Additional sound handling quirks for the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9 16IAH10, Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16ARX8H, Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15ABR8, and Alienware m18 R1 AMD.
