Lino Cayetano's Facebook page The Presidential Communications Office has undergone several leadership changes throughout the Marcos administration MANILA, Philippines – People’s Television Network (PTV) General Manager Lino Cayetano is the next secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. confirmed on Sunday, October 11. Cayetano will replace Dave Gomez who was bypassed by the Commission on Appointments. “Na-bypass si Dave (Dave was bypassed) so I guess immediately, at least, who will take his place will be Lino,” Marcos said in an interview with Philippine media at the end of his Singapore trip. Cayetano will be the sixth PCO chief under the Marcos administration, which has seen frequent changes in leadership of the government’s communications arm. The PCO is responsible for coordinating the messaging of the executive branch and the Office of the President, including communicating government policies, programs, and official activities to the public and maintaining relations with the media. Cayetano, a former television director and politician, was appointed general manager of the state-run network in June 2026. He is the younger brother of senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano, both of whom have criticized the Marcos administration. His relationship with Alan has also been marked by political differences. In the 2025 elections, Cayetano ran for representative of Taguig’s First District but lost to Ading Cruz, who was backed by his sister-in-law, Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano. Before joining PTV, Cayetano served as Taguig City mayor from 2019 to 2022 and represented the city’s Second District in the House of Representatives from 2013 to 2016. He earned a degree in Mass Communication from the University of the Philippines and a diploma in film from the New York Film Academy. He is also a co-founder, producer, and director at Rein Entertainment. The PCO has undergone several leadership changes since Marcos took office in 2022.
