Lindsay Clancy juror reveals how husband Patrick’s divisive testimony swayed her decision on ‘America’s saddest trial’

A JUROR in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial has revealed how the testimony of her ex-husband Patrick helped sway her toward an insanity verdict. Farina, a senior center chef, said defense attorney Kevin Reddington had successfully painted a picture of Clancy as a loving mother through testimony from those closest to her. Even Patrick was very compassionate. “So we appreciated the fact that he [Reddington] delayed [the trial] and dragged it on with a bunch of more medical BS and get more to the point really of who Lindsay is and what her life was like.” Patrick’s role in the blockbuster trial had been fiercely scrutinized after a wave of disturbing and baseless conspiracy theories spread online. Social media sleuths have picked apart his actions on the night his children died, his appearance, his divorce from Lindsay and his subsequent remarriage. There is no evidence Patrick had any role in the deaths and he has never been charged in connection with the case. On January 24, 2023, Patrick Clancy returned home from running errands to find his then-wife Lindsay on the ground in the backyard of their home. Lindsay had jumped from their second-story bedroom window after cutting herself and crushing up pills. We were just like ‘my God, the desperation, the despair in his voice’. “It’s something that will stick with me. And I felt that it was genuine, it was absolutely genuine.” Patrick could be heard screaming after finding his children in the basement while speaking to emergency dispatchers on the night of the killings. His lawyer Howard Cooper has previously put social media influencers and celebrities on notice over what he called defamatory claims about his client. Reddington also addressed the speculation after the mistrial was declared. He said: “I think Patrick, you heard the 911 call. I think you can judge his credibility by that 911 call. “I don’t know what is in Patrick’s mind I mean he testified, and the jury was able to evaluate him.” Farina was one of three jurors to speak out alongside foreperson Roni Carlson and Paula Devlin following days of heated deliberations. Carlson said the key question was never whether Clancy had killed her children, but whether she understood right from wrong at the time. She said: “We weren’t trying to figure out if she murdered the children. She did and she’s admitting that. We’re tying to figure out did she know right from wrong at that time?” Carlson said the repeated evidence about Clancy’s love for her children ultimately convinced her that the mom did not understand what she was doing. She added: “And with everybody saying she loved her children so much and everything proved to loved her children – from her journals to her mother in law [testifying]. “Everything proved that she loved her children, so she had to have snapped and not known what she was doing. That to me was proof she didn’t know what she was doing.” The trio also praised Reddington’s performance while criticizing how prosecutors presented their case. Farina described the prosecution as “harsh, very, very harsh” and questioned why jurors heard from medical experts but nobody who portrayed Clancy as a bad mother. She said: “The fact that they had no character witnesses in regards to Lindsay being a bad mother. Right out of the gate it’s like, you’re presenting all these medical professionals, but nobody’s presenting a woman and a mother of three children. “So I found it to be biased right out of the gate.” The jurors said Reddington, meanwhile, came across as more authentic.Carlson called him “entertaining,” while Devlin described him as both “arrogant and entertaining.” Farina quipped: “But compassionate, with his arrogance.” Devlin added: “His compassion towards Lindsay was amazing.” Comment now
