Aldi has stocked two-packs of boys and girls polo shirts for just £1.75 this year. And Lidl shoppers will receive a price match, with the supermarket also offering two packs for £1.75. This means the first round is a tie, with both supermarkets’s prices breaking down to just 87p for a single polo shirt. Aldi has a handful of colours available, with shoppers also able to choose between button-up cardigans or pullover jumpers, both retailing for £1.50. Once again, this leaves the two supermarkets neck-and-neck when it comes to value for money. On the other hand, Lidl recently launched a pair of similar-style school shoes for a pound less. That means that Lidl narrowly wins out in the back-to-school footwear round. Which supermarket offers the best value for money on school uniform buys? While Aldi offers a range of bargain back-to-school buys, Lidl takes the gold here. Most of the items are price-matched between the brands, however, Lidl edged ahead slightly with its bargain school shoes.
