Lidl shoppers are running to try ‘phenomenal’ new bakery item

Every few weeks, the bargain retailer releases a limited-edition selection of baked goods, switching it up between new products and returning fan-favourites. The most recent drop in-store has seen a brand new sweet treat hit the shelves, and people can’t get enough of it. The item in question? A Milkybar Muffin. Priced at £1.49, the muffin hit the shelves in Lidl’s bakery on October 1. Despite only being out for a few days, it’s already causing a stir, with posts about it flooding TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook feeds. The product features a white chocolate-flavoured filling inside a ‘moist’ sponge muffin, and it’s topped with a Milkybar button. Fans have branded it ‘phenomenal’, ‘lush’, ‘unreal’, and ‘dangerous’ online, with one review by Amy Macnaughton reading: This Milkybar Muffin from Lidl is phenomenal. It’s got Milkybar cream inside too!’ Similarly, Katie Richardson commented: ‘Can confirm these are banging.’ Ask Metro Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about – powered by Metro and trusted publications. And Amy Higham urged people to go and try one ASAP, posting: ‘You need to run.’ On TikTok responses were equally enthusiastic, with @nicolawalker50 sharing: ‘Got one earlier. Was class. Lidl bakery is elite.’ While @callietake2 filmed herself trying the sweet treat, but she had a bit of a mixed reaction. Callie described the muffin as ‘unbelievable’ but admitted she would have liked more of the ‘gooey’ filling inside, as hers was pretty empty. Others said they’d had similar ‘disappointing’ experiences, but it seems to depend on the batch, as @ibelieveinghosts00 claimed their one was ‘loaded’. It’s not been confirmed how long the muffin will be available at Lidl, but limited-edition items are usually only around for a few weeks, or while supplies last. So, if you’re keen to give this one a try, you’ll want to be quick. Will you be trying the new Milkybar Muffin from Lidl?
