Oasis will be hitting the road again in 2027, after selling more than 2.2 million tickets across 36 dates for their 2024 tour – their first after the band split due to Liam and brother Noel Gallagher’s explsoive fall out in 2009. No wonder then they’re doing more dates in 2027, with another 42 stadium and outdoors shows across the world next summer. But there’s no chance of Fontaines D.C., who look likely to score another number one album next Friday with their latest release Dopamine Chamber, joining them after Liam was asked why they weren’t opening for Oasis. His response? ‘There not good enough they don’t have any tunes.’ Fontaines D.C. are widely tipped to be headlining Glastonbury 2027 (Picture: Getty Images) Not that Fontaines D.C. will mind too much after guitarist Carlos O’Connell previously said he ‘couldn’t really give a s**t’ about the Oaris reunion when it was announced in 2024, while bassist Conor Deegan III agreed at the time: ‘I’m not excited about it either, to be honest. I feel like we get caught in the last era – like the ’10s – and into such a nostalgic thing that we’re forgetting to make new things. ‘I feel like what we were wanting to do with this record anyway was to look into the future and make new things… So for Oasis to reform at this moment for us is really annoying.’ The five-piece could find their 2027 is busy enough, regardless. Next summer they’ll be headlining stadiums with their own tour which conveniently has a gap on both the Friday and Sunday night of Glastonbury, sparking rumours they will be one of the three Pyramid Stage headliners announced over the coming months. Co-organiser Emily Eavis confirmed the headliners have been booked, but refused to give any official confirmation. She did, however, rule Oasis out of the running as well as Madonna, who was hotly tipped to make her Glastonbury debut following the release of her hugely acclaimed album Confessions II. Sam Fender’s Glastonbury headlining slot has already been ‘revealed’ (Picture: Pip/ZUMA Press Wire/Shutterstock) Geordie singer Sam Fender is reportedly among the acts which will be headlining the Pyramid Stage. A source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Sam is over the moon, it’s a major milestone in his career and he’s so excited he’s even been telling his neighbours.’ Glastonbury tickets sold out in just 42 minutes earlier this month, even though not a single act has been announced for the line-up and tickets costing more than £400 for the first time. Other artists tipped to take one of the three coveted slots include Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift, both at 3/1, while Beyoncé, Chappell Roan, Eminem, Fred Again, Little Simz and Miley Cyrus have also featured prominently in the speculation.
