Letter: Make switch away from gas-powered lawn tools

It’s time Honolulu had a law like California’s mandating commercial yard companies, hotels and condos to transition to electric blowers and Weedwackers. Those gas tools put out way more pollution than a gasoline car or pickup. In one hour, a commercial gas-powered leaf blower can emit as much smog-forming pollution as driving a passenger car for hundreds of miles, and they are obnoxiously noisy. The fumes are also bad for the workers’ health.
