Leny Yoro insists Man United can win the Premier League THIS SEASON despite 15th-placed disaster just a year ago

With champions Arsenal the team to beat, United have emerged as potential challengers amid a rare prolonged period of stability under Carrick. Yoro echoed team-mate Bryan Mbeumo’s promise of a “big” season when asked if United can win the title. The Frenchman said: “Yeah, of course. We’re Man United so we have to think like that. And I know we have the potential to do it, so we have to do it. “The mood is really good. We work really hard, and outside the pitch, we have a good vibe, good mood. “So the target this season is to win every game, to be honest. For the team to be the best, for myself to do good games every time, to win trophies, and to be at the top.” United came from behind to beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 in their third pre-season friendly in Stockholm on Saturday. United signed Yoro from Lille for £58.7million in July 2024 and the 20-year-old has made 33 appearances in each of his campaigns due to a combination of injuries and competition. Fellow centre half Matthijs de Ligt is certain to miss the start of the season after back surgery while Lisandro Martinez sustained a thigh injury in the World Cup final, though he is not expected to miss any United games. Carrick has played Harry Maguire and Ayden Heaven at centre back in a right-footed-left-footed combination in pre-season, with Yoro filling in at right back. Yoro was keen to stress he is a centre back first and foremost but acknowledged it is time he established himself at United in his third season. He added: “I hope I’m not going to be injured this pre-season. That will help me to improve as well, and to be ready for the start of the season. “But the team is doing really well. No injuries yet as well. So hopefully we’re going to continue like that. “I know I did a great season but I know I can do much, much better. I know my potential, for sure, and I hope I’m going to have a really good, good season.
