Lego's first-ever Godzilla set has been a long time coming. Starting life as a Lego Ideas submission, years later, the set has become a reality. Now that it has been officially revealed, we can finally confirm how much the set is going to cost and when it will be released. Oh, and most importantly, that, like the real Godzilla, it's an absolute unit. Lego Godzilla's massive Lego debut is a set that weighs in at a massive 5,363 pieces, comfortably ranking it among the top 20 biggest Lego sets available today, nestled neatly between the slightly larger Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser and the slightly smaller Avengers Tower. The set will be released for Black Friday on November 27, 2026. Don't go expecting it to be discounted, though, as the set will have a hefty $449.99 price tag to match its size. The good news is that if you're among the first to buy the set, you will get a little something extra for that bumper price. Also revealed today is the Godzilla Footprint GWP set. GWPs, or gifts with purchase, are freebies you get from Lego when you either spend over a certain amount or, as is the case here, but a particular set. Buy the big new Godzilla set, and you will get the 359-piece footprint GWP thrown in for free. Provided you buy the set before November 30, 2026, so a very limited window. After that date, like most other GWPs, it will probably be gone forever. Back to Lego Godzilla, and not only do those 5,000 pieces make the kaiju incredibly bulky, but it's also pretty tall. A whopping 27.5 inches when you tilt the set's head back so that the blue heat ray coming from its mouth is pointed towards the sky. Speaking of which, if you don't want your Lego Godzilla to be using its atomic breath 24/7, it can be detached and replaced with a slightly less intimidating, much smaller Lego tongue. The set is fully posable, as the adjustable head suggests, so you can display it however you like, within reason. You can move the arms, legs, and head, but you can't have it doing the splits, although I can't imagine you would really want to. It's based on the monster's black and blue design which, while first used in the '60s, will be the one that terrorizes Japan in Godzilla Minus Zero. Relasing in theaters in Japan today, and later this week in the US and elsewhere, I can't imagine the kaiju's first Lego set getting its big reveal right now, and a release later this month, is an accident.
