Lego’s 3 New Batman Sets Give You a Choice: Cute, Cool, or Terrifying

Batman can be many things to many people, a fact perfectly illustrated by these new Lego sets announced ahead of New York Comic Con. If you’re going to the con, you can check them out in person when they’re unveiled at the DC booth (#4365), well ahead of their on-sale date of January 1, 2027. Everyone else can ogle the images here. First up is the Lego DC Batman Joker Wall Art—celebrating the cover of Detective Comics #880, written by Scott Snyder with memorable cover art by Jock. It will retail for $170, has 1,849 pieces, and is aimed at Lego fans 18 and up. It boasts “eyes and features that pop off the surface with hidden details waiting in the deeper layer,” according to a press release, and you can pre-order it now. If you’re at NYCC, there’ll be a nine-foot-tall brick-built rendering of the cover at the DC booth… happy nightmares to you! As an added incentive, if you pre-order this set on-site at the con, you will receive “a reprint of the issue with a Lego-brick-inspired cover,” and you can even get Jock to sign it, since he’ll be at the booth on Thursday, October 8, starting at 11:00 am. Then we have some vehicles for all those times you need to be speeding around Gotham. The Lego DC Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck is $60, with 672 pieces, and is also for ages nine and up. (The included Penguin minifig looks perfectly deranged.) And here’s the Lego DC Arkham Batman Batmobile; it will set you back $30, has 317 pieces, and is aimed at Lego builders (and video game fans) ages nine and up. According to the release, there’s an extra incentive for both of these: “Fans can use these sets to unlock the Golden Red Brick in Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, adding a gold theme for characters and vehicles. The Lego DC Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck set also unlocks a gold Batman Returns Batmobile Batcave prop in-game.” Will you be adding any of these sets to your Batman collection? Want more io9 news?
