Shenron, the wish-granting Eternal Dragon of the Dragon Ball franchise, is the centerpiece of Lego's new set that will arrive this November. The Lego Icons Dragon Ball Shenron & Goku set isn't a one-off, however. It's the beginning of a new partnership between Lego and Toei, with more Dragon Ball sets to follow in 2027. The Lego Icons Dragon Ball Shenron & Goku set (11390) is built from 1,764 Lego pieces and stands more than 12 inches tall. In addition to Shenron, the set features a Kid Goku Lego minifigure and a diorama with Dragon Balls. Lego says the set is based on the "powerful moment Shenron rises from the seven Dragon Balls, with Kid Goku riding his Kintoun at the heart of the scene that celebrates one of anime’s most enduring heroes." “For decades, Dragon Ball has captured the hearts and imaginations of fans around the world, and we’re thrilled to bring this iconic universe into the Lego portfolio," said Federico Begher, senior VP of product, marketing and development at the Lego Group, in a statement. "Together with Toei Animation, we have an incredible opportunity to celebrate the characters and stories that have made Dragon Ball so enduring, while giving fans a new way to experience and build the stories they love. The Lego Icons Dragon Ball: Shenron & Goku set is just the beginning, and we look forward to seeing how this partnership inspires fans to explore the Dragon Ball universe through Lego building and creativity." "We’re thrilled to bring the world of Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball to life with the Lego Group," added Masayuki Endo, president and CEO at Toei Animation. "Soon, fans around the globe will get to enjoy the iconic characters and epic adventures of Dragon Ball in a whole new way through exciting collaboration. This initial release celebrates the original ‘Dragon Ball’ episodic series – and no Dragon Ball collection will be complete without these Lego Dragon Ball products.” The Lego Icons Dragon Ball Shenron & Goku set costs $179.99 and ships in November.
