Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches next week, but its release has been tainted somewhat by some bad news for fans of Lego video games. On the day Lego Batman hits early access, Lego 2K Drive will be delisted. Lego 2K Drive Will Be Delisted On May 19 An update on the Lego racing game's future was shared via its Steam page. On it, developer Visual Concepts has confirmed that, from May 19, 2026, Lego 2K Drive will no longer be available to buy. That news applies to all platforms on which the game is available, as the same message has been shared on all of Lego 2K Drive's digital storefronts. Related May 19 is a significant day for a lot of reasons, but most notably, it will mark only three years since Lego 2K Drive was released. That suggests, even though the game seemingly hasn't performed as well sales-wise as 2K would have hoped - it has failed to hit 50 concurrent players on Steam at any given moment yet this month - that this delisting may be due to a license expiration as opposed to lack of interest. The additional piece of unfortunate information for those of you still playing Lego 2K Drive made via today's delisting news further suggests a licensing agreement might be to blame here. On top of getting delisted on May 19, Lego 2K Drive's multiplayer servers will be shut down in just over a year from now, on May 31, 2027. You Have A Little Over A Year To Make The Most Of Lego 2K Drive's Online Features Your browser does not support the video tag. That means if this is a game you've been considering taking for a spin, but you're yet to pull the trigger, you might want to pick up a copy this weekend. If you don't, you'll have to rely on finding a physical copy. If you do, there's every chance it will suddenly be a lot more expensive than it was this time last week, since the game is about to become a lot harder to acquire. If you already own the game or you pick up a copy in the next few days, you'll have little over a year to enjoy its online features before 2K throws in the towel. The game does have single-player elements that can be played offline, and they will presumably remain playable after the servers go offline, although 2K hasn't confirmed that. Regardless of the reason for Lego 2K Drive's imminent delisting and future server shutdown, it's evident that Lego video games are long overdue for a win. Lego's other recent release was Lego Horizon Adventures, and while its sales numbers have never been officially confirmed, it doesn't appear to have performed all that well. Neither 2K Drive nor Horizon Adventures was developed by Lego game veterans, TT Games. Legacy of the Dark Knight will be TT's first release since Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Lego's last video game success. Based on its glowing previews and the tentative excitement for its arrival next week, it seems like Lego Batman is going to be exactly what the Lego video game space needs, and comfortably the biggest Lego launch since TT's last offering.
