Legal hemp seized

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. — A federal court in Illinois partially dismissed a civil rights claim brought by a legal hemp distributor who sued the county after its police officers seized his inventory during a traffic stop even as he tried to show his documentation. The court finds the distributor’s failure-to-train claim may proceed, as the county did not educate its officers on how to distinguish between legal hemp and illegal marijuana.
