Learning co-op helps at-risk boys become young farmers

This seven-week agriculture-based program at Frederick Smith Secondary School has successfully re-engaged 15 at-risk boys by turning them into young farmers. The initiative not only improved their school attendance and teamwork but also equipped them with practical farming skills through hydroponics. The boys even managed to produce saleable products, highlighting the program's potential to offer viable pathways for at-risk youth, addressing broader issues of youth engagement and employment in the community.
