(Photo courtesy of Laoag LGU) SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — The city government of Laoag in Ilocos Norte has begun distributing the first batch of multipurpose vehicles to the city’s 80 barangays to strengthen their capacity to respond to emergencies and other community needs. The city government announced this on Monday, Sept. 7, noting that the vehicles were funded by the city government through the initiative of Mayor James Bryan Alcid. Each multipurpose vehicle is equipped with a stretcher, oxygen tank, first-aid kit, blood pressure apparatus, ladder, and chainsaw, among other equipment needed during emergencies.
