Recent reports that Landman season 3 is filming on campus at TCU this week confirm that Ainsley will be continuing her college education despite her unexpected roommate drama in season 2. While there was some initial concern that Ainsley would drop out of college and return to Midland to live with her mom in season 2, this new Landman season 3 filming update confirms she will stay at the school for the foreseeable future. This also suggests that Ainsley could have an even smaller season 3 role than in previous seasons. Ainsley's decision to join the cheerleading squad at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX was one of the biggest developments for her character in Landman season 2. This arrived after she had originally planned to attend Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, with her season 1 love interest, Ryder, only for those plans to completely fall apart after Ryder failed to attain a high enough ACT score. Rather than give up on her college ambitions, Ainsley chose to attend TCU but was faced with immediate setbacks with her roommate, Paigyn. Landman Season 3 Is Filming At TCU With Ainsley's Storyline Landman season 3 began production in Fort Worth, TX, at the start of October and just wrapped filming on TCU's campus on October 8 (according to Texas Christian University's website). Dozens of cheerleader personnel were recruited to participate in the series, which is a clear indication that Ainsley has decided to continue her pursuit of being a TCU cheerleader in Landman season 3. That said, specific story details remain under wraps, which indicates that just because Ainsley extends her cheerleading ambitions, it doesn't guarantee that she'll have a smooth time succeeding on the team. Landman season 3 expanding on Ainsley’s college storyline could be exactly what the series needs, not only for Ainsley's continued character development but also to take the show in a new direction. Ainsley has little to no purpose with her father Tommy's new oil business, even though he started his own venture with several of his closest friends and family members, which could have potentially involved Ainsley. However, knowing Ainsley's personality, she would likely not have adjusted to working for her dad's business and has much more purpose in the series with a more developed college storyline. Ainsley's TCU Story Isn't Ending After Landman Season 2 Ainsley's biggest struggle adjusting to campus life at TCU was her immediate conflict with her roommate, Paigyn, as it initially seemed impossible that the two strong personalities could ever find common ground. As it turns out, Paigyn is in school to become an athletic trainer and study sports medicine, which helped bridge the gap between her and Ainsley after Ainsley injured her ankle and Paigyn helped mend it. This ended up being the first step towards mutual respect and understanding between the two college students, which ultimately pushed Ainsley to stay on campus with Paigyn as her roommate, despite her mother's demands to the school's administration. What's more, the actor who plays Paigyn, Bobbi Salvor Menuez, has officially signed on to become a series regular, which is another strong sign that there will be more college scenes at TCU in Landman season 3 than there were in the previous seasons. This opens up all sorts of new possibilities for Ainsley's character, as she will likely make new friends, take classes, and may find a new romantic interest. This could finally give Ainsley more of a clear purpose in the series and lay the foundation for her character to grow outside the pressures and concerns of her parents. Despite the initial uncertainty about Ainsley's college future in season 2, these updates paint a much clearer outlook in Landman season 3.
