Lamborghinis & Mercedes G-Wagons seized by cops after dropping to 17mph, wheel-spinning & weaving across major motorway

LUXURY motors have been seized by cops after they were caught wheel-spinning, weaving and slowing down to speeds of 17mph on a major motorway. Police said the cars were seen weaving across lanes, wheel spinning and slowing down to speeds of around 17mph on the motorway. Officers then brought the remaining vehicles to a stop on Edinburgh Way in Rochdale. Five Lamborghini’s and a Mercedes G-Wagon were seized and police prosecuted the drivers for a number of driving offences. Alongside the clip, a GMP spokesperson wrote: “Last night (Wednesday 2 September 2026) some Lamborghini drivers thought they were on an episode of Drive to Survive. Spoiler alert: they weren’t.” Most read in The Sun They added: “The only pitstop they are making is to the vehicle impound.” Chief Inspector Danny Kabal, from GMP’s Transport Policing and Crime command said: “We take road safety very serious in GMP, and we will not tolerate careless, inconsiderate, anti-social or dangerous driving on our roads. “Recent changes to Section 59 of the Police Reform Act now enables us to seize vehicles without having to issue a warning first. He added: “People who think it is acceptable to use our roads as a racetrack, need to pay attention to this result and take it as a warning – they will have their vehicles seized and they will be prosecuted. Where proportionate to do so, they will also be arrested. “I would like to thank the members of the public who reported this matter to us and apologise to them for any inconvenience caused when we temporarily shut the road to deal with the offenders. “If anyone has any footage of this incident, including dashcam or CCTV, please get in touch with us via 101 or our website: gmp.police.uk. I would also urge anyone who witnesses such poor driving or riding on our roads to report it to us.” Last month, a convoy of supercars were seized by cops as they were heading to a wedding after they were spotted being driven dangerously on two motorways. The “rolling supercar showcase” put other road users in danger as it drove to the pal’s big day along the M4 and M5, police said. The impounded high-performance vehicles include a £240,000 Lamborghini Huracán LP 640-4 Performante Spyder and a £110,000 Audi R8 Spyder. And in July, 13 supercars worth more than £2.5million were seized by police after another convoy was spotted driving dangerously on a major UK motorway. The high-octane motors impounded on that occasion included seven Lamborghinis, four Audi R8s, a Ferrari, and a Porsche. Police gave each driver a warning for anti-social driving after being alerted by motorists to a string of dangerous manoeuvres. The supercars accelerated to excessive speeds before suddenly braking, bunching together and disrupting traffic, witnesses said. Drivers even allegedly used the hard shoulder to undertake other motorists.
