Labour leapfrogs Reform in poll for first time in 15 months amid ‘Burnham bounce’

REFORM have surrendered their lead for the first time in more than a year amid a “Burnham bounce”, according to one pollster. Labour rose to 28 per cent last week to leapfrog Nigel Farage’s party on 24 per cent, which is the lowest since April 2025. Mr Burnham yesterday said he was not getting “carried away” by the poll lead after just one week in the job. The Labour leader said: “I wouldn’t get carried away by any, by any poll. I’m pleased to have kind of made a start where hopefully I’ve connected with people and I am talking a lot about Britain believing again and getting its hold back. “And I’m not going to apologise for that. I think we should have a bit more of a spring in our step when we see what we are doing to support Ukraine and the collaboration that has just been taking place. “We should be proud of our armed forces and what Britain is still doing. I think maybe we’ve, I don’t know, lost the bit of that positivity in recent times. Most read in The Sun “With all the caveats that it’s just one poll, Labour now leads for the first time since March of last year, and holds their highest vote share since the early months of this government in 2024.” Zack Polanski’s Greens have recorded their lowest share of the vote since last October on just 8 per cent.
