KSR Basketball In a game that looked to be heading toward a blowout win for the Kentucky alums, The Ville climbed back late to threaten La Familia on its home court, even having a couple of chances to hit the Elam ending’s target score of 71. Still, La Familia held on and got the late stops, then finished the job on this game-winning dunk by one of the non-alums, Darryl Morsell, to win 72-68. The non-alums came up big for the Kentucky side. Morsell led all scorers with 17 points, including the final bucket that ended the game. Andrew Harrison posted a second-best 14 points as the team’s starting point guard, then Sean McNeil with 12, and 10 from James Mainor-Bell. One thing to monitor: Willie Cauley-Stein missed most of the second half with an ankle injury, which opened the door for The Ville’s comeback. His status will be key for Game 2 on Monday.
