‘Kuttiyolum Collectorum’ launched in Kozhikode to foster students’ confidence

Madhavikutty launched an interactive programme for schoolchildren, titled ‘Kuttiyolum Collectorum’, with students of Naduvannur Government Higher Secondary School spending time with her at her chambers on Wednesday (September 9, 2026).The interaction combined games, informal conversations, and questions on a range of issues concerning children and society. Students of classes VII and VIII interacted with the Collector about the preparation required to become a civil servant, measures to make schools more child-friendly, and the changes likely to take place in the world in the years to come.The students also sought her views on opportunities in the age of artificial intelligence, measures to prevent substance abuse among children, the changes she hoped to bring about in the district, and some of her memorable experiences as Collector.The children asked her about her favourite places in Kozhikode and dreams that remained unfulfilled. Ms. Madhavikutty responded to the questions and also joined the students in various games. The participants received books as gifts from the Collector. Teachers from the school also attended the programme.As part of ‘Kuttiyolum Collectorum’, the Collector will interact with students from various schools every Wednesday. According to Revenue department officials, the programme is being organised with the support of interns attached to the Collector’s office, with the objective of fostering confidence and a spirit of cooperation among children.
