Krushna Abhishek breaks silence on Govinda-Ssunita Ahuja marriage row

Actor-comedian Krushna Abhishek asked photographers at Mumbai airport on Monday not to question him about his uncle Govinda, as fresh attention returned to Govinda and Ssunita Ahuja’s marriage. His remarks came amid months of speculation around the couple’s relationship, which began after Ssunita alleged that Govinda was having an affair with a female actor and intensified after he was seen with his next film Roopa’s co-star, Komal Rani Swarnkar.The latest response from the family came days after Ssunita, during a phone conversation with Rakhi Sawant, spoke about withdrawing her divorce case against Govinda and claimed that he was set to marry Komal Rani. Govinda had earlier cautioned Ssunita against making certain comments publicly and has since issued a legal notice against what he described as false, defamatory, malicious or unverified content about his personal and family life.Speaking to photographers, Krushna said, “Masti ke sawal poochhna, mama ka koi sawal mat poochhna maine dekha bahut footage le rahe log hamare ghar ki baat karke. (Ask fun questions; do not ask any questions about uncle. I have seen people taking a lot of footage by discussing our family matters.)”He then said, “Ghar ki baat ghar mein rehni chahiye. Mujhe bilkul pasand nahi hai ki baaki log itni baat kar rahe hain, pata nahi kyun (Things within the family should stay within the family. I really do not like the fact that other people are talking about it so much; I do not know why.)” Krushna added that he would not speak about the issue from his side because Govinda is his maternal uncle. He said he loved his aunt very much, and his uncle as well, and hoped everything would be resolved.Arti Singh's responseThe ongoing discussion around Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s marriage also drew a response from the actor’s niece, Arti Singh. During a recent interaction with paparazzi, Arti said she would speak to Ssunita, whom she addressed as ‘Ssunita mami’, but made it clear that she would keep her views within the family and not discuss them publicly. “As I said earlier, I do not speak in matters concerning my elders,” Arti said. “This is their matter. People who want footage can do that. I am not one of them because I am a family member.” She was also asked how she personally felt about the situation, and said, “Whatever I feel, I will tell Krushna on a call tonight. I will speak to Tina, I will speak to Yash, I will speak to Sunita mami, and I will speak to my mother.”Sunita’s recent claimsKrushna’s comments came days after Ssunita’s phone conversation with Rakhi Sawant, in which she spoke about her decision to withdraw the divorce case against Govinda. Ssunita said she had remained silent for five to six years and was deeply upset by what had been happening in her marriage. She also said that seeing Govinda and Komal Rani together at an airport had hurt her.Ssunita then claimed that Govinda and Komal Rani were planning to get married. The claim has not been corroborated, and Govinda’s manager has denied that the actor is planning a second marriage.Govinda’s response and legal noticeDenying the cheating allegations, Govinda later responded in a video message. He accused Ssunita of interfering in his work, trying to damage his public image and using inappropriate language in public comments. The actor also urged her to "stay within her limits" and said she might need his support again in future.Against this backdrop, Govinda issued a public notice warning individuals, media organisations, digital platforms and content creators against publishing, uploading, broadcasting or sharing material that allegedly misrepresents him or his family.
