Now the creator of Metal Gear and Death Stranding has shared a much-needed update on the upcoming action-espionage game. Kojima said the game is making "steady progress" and revealed Bill Skarsgård (It, Nosferatu) is joining the cast in a big way. Kojima shared the news in a YouTube video co-posted by Xbox and Kojima Productions. Before diving into updates, Kojima said that Physint is "the culmination of more than 40 years of my career: a project that will redefine 'action-espionage,' unbound by any existing genres in digital entertainment." That's a bold promise considering Kojima invented Metal Gear, the series that defined the genre, before unceremoniously leaving Konami on bad terms in 2015 to found his own studio. It was then revealed that Skarsgård had been cast in the lead role of Physint. Kojima said that the two are "long-time fans of each other's work, and we've decided to embark on this new adventure together." 'Footage shows Skarsgård in office wear—black and grey—with varied outerwear. He'll be joining a cast that already includes Charlee Fraser, Minami Hamabe, and Don Lee, but Kojima teases more casting announcements are still to come. Kojima's OD is also coming along Image: Kojima Productions Xbox and Kojima Productions are also working together on the horror game OD, which got an update alongside Physint. The game's full title is OD: Knock, which is shown off throughout the video. Kojima says development is "progressing smoothly." Performance capture and ADR recording resumed this year after being paused during the recent SAG-Aftra strike. OD's cast includes Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier in a posthumous performance. Horror director Jordan Peele is also co-writing the game with Kojima. That game currently has no release date.
