Published October 26, 2026 08:06 AM The Raiders lost their fourth straight game on Sunday and head coach Klint Kubiak said that nothing is off the table as they consider ways to halt their slide. That includes a quarterback change. Kirk Cousins’s play may not be at the top of the list of issues hampering the team, but first overall pick Fernando Mendoza is going to be the starter at some point and Kubiak was asked after Sunday’s 35-21 loss to the Rams if it is time to start thinking about that future when it comes to who is piloting the offense. “I think we have to go watch the film,” Kubiak said. “I think at this point, we’re thinking about everything to fix our problems, how to fix our issues in the red zone, in the third quarter, personnel, scheme. We’ve got to talk about all of it.”Part of the consideration for the Raiders is how well they can support Mendoza at this point in the season. The team’s running game is offering little support and they’ve given up at least 30 points in each of their four losses, which is a combination that does no favors to any quarterback. The schedule brings a bit of a reprieve next week with the Jets, but the 49ers, Seahawks and Broncos are on deck after that. It’s hard to see the Raiders coming out of that stretch in playoff contention if those problems remain in place and that might make it time to turn things over to the rookie.
