As great as it is that Kingdom Hearts has finally come back in earnest over the past few months, it does have the dangerous side effect of getting all of our hopes up. Now that Square Enix has confidently shared more details about Kingdom Hearts 4 and when it’s going to arrive, fans are expecting to see it a lot more often. That made last night a bit of a disappointment, as Kingdom Hearts 4 was nowhere to be seen at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase. While that might convince some of you that Kingdom Hearts is taking a bit of a rest before a massive 2027, a trusted insider has suggested that’s actually not the case. DanielRPK Says More Big Kingdom Hearts Announcements Are Coming Soon Hopefully It’s Tied To Kingdom Hearts 4 Before Kingdom Hearts 4 made a surprise appearance at D23’s entertainment panel last week, reliable movie insider DanielRPK reported that something to do with Coco and Kingdom Hearts was being announced. DanielRPK even said that it could have something to do with a Coco world, which ended up being exactly right. That’s made it clear that he is a trusted source when it comes to Kingdom Hearts news, making his latest claim all the more exciting. Over on Twitter, DanielRPK simply said that he’s heard “more big Kingdom Hearts announcements” are coming by the end of the year, without sharing what that might entail. Considering Kingdom Hearts 4 isn’t specifically mentioned and Disney has recently made it clear that they want to do more with the franchise, it’s possible that the announcement doesn’t have anything to do with the games. I’d personally be more excited for Kingdom Hearts 4 news than something related to the series as a whole, but there’s a chance of both happening. Now that we know Kingdom Hearts 4 is set for late 2027, there’s a very good chance the game will appear at Tokyo Game Show or The Game Awards to reveal new worlds. If it’s not tied to KH4 specifically, then it’s anyone’s guess when we’ll find out more, but at least we know 2026 isn’t done with Kingdom Hearts.
